Rome visit, June 2008 – 79
These pictures were taken during a trip to Rome in Jun 2008, where I presented a 2-day seminar on "Web 2.0".
This is the Canova restaurant, right at the edge of Piazza del Popolo on Via del Babuino; as you can see, it has a bunch of outdoor tables, for people to enjoy a cup of coffee, a glass of wine, or just some good old-fashioned people-watching.
I got here, on my way back from the Spanish Steps, just before 7:45 PM — in the last glow of the sunshine before it dropped down below the skyline of the city behind me.
Here is the bald-headed man, and his female friend, obviously engrossed in some animated conversation. With a telephone lens, his tattoos become much more obvious…

Cloudy thinking or thinking out loud, however you look at it, the secret life of a library is a riot of information. Using del.icio.us, I pulled tag clouds on subects from toys to free market economics to okonomiyaki.
Try and guess what I searched for to build each tag cloud, and you win first prize in the web 2.0 mystery contest, meaning you’ll have solved the greatest puzzle of social tagging: how can we possibly make sense of them? PS, the grand prize is amongst the clouds…

Animated storyteller!
The Italians tend to become very animated in almost any conversation … so this one could have started when the guy asked, "So, how was your day at work, dear?"
Or maybe she was complaining about his tattoos …
Great photo. Candid and expressive!

Not really an answer, but sometimes sheep do take over the mind. Would 42 come close?
