Some Basic Rules of Web 2.0

Web 2.0 has not changed the fact that there are still laws governing internet marketing. The different methods of internet marketing that have expanded due to Web 2.0. No matter what marketing method or methods the company uses; make sure that the proper rules and guidelines are followed.

An email marketing campaign is governed with very stringent rules. The company must include information such as: the business name, phone number and email address. It is also a requirement of email marketing to include a link for subscribers to unsubscribe at the bottom of every email.

Being an affiliate of an MLM means that the affiliate is held to the same standards as the actual company they are selling for. This can be very risky. That is why it is best for the company to develop their own website.

Networking is a very effective way to market a product or service. Utilizing social networking and/or social bookmarking is another effective way to incorporate Web 2.0 into a marketing campaign.

A social networking site like FaceBook is a great way to gain more online visibility, increase page rankings and generate revenue. FaceBook allows user interaction by allowing users to add a network of friends, create blogs, post comments, and post videos. And best of all it’s free to sign up.

A social bookmarking site is a site where a business can post articles and/or videos concerning their product or service. Users can look for and find topics that interest them and “bookmark” them on the site rather than saving them to their computer. Then, they can share the information they have found with other people that they know.

Web 2.0 is viral in nature, which is why social sites are so extremely important. With billions of users logged on to their computers from every corner of the world; utilizing social sites may be the fastest way to get noticed online. Whatever method the marketer chooses to use, they must make sure to adhere to internet marketing rules and guidelines.
